age of 15. She's an extremely prolific songwriter, sometimes writing
two to three songs a week. In the summer of 2000, she collaborated
with Producer/Guitarist David Love and the two began performing
throughout central Texas. In June of 2001, Jenny's song "Contained"
won the "Longing" category of the Austin Songwriters
Group's Bare Bones Contest. Her song "Coming Down" also
took an honorable mention. Jenny's first album, "Joyride",
was released on November 2nd, and contains 15 songs. The second
album is already written! Her music encompasses a variety of styles,
from upbeat Ani Difranco-style pop to quiet ballads to Jazz to
Blues. She writes songs about love, songs about her p e ts, songs
about a cab ride in New York City. She even wrote a song about
a cheese factory. Jenny has performed all over the Austin area,
including at the Humble Time radio show, Cheatham Street Warehouse,
Ruta Maya, Central M! arket, the Hickory Street Grill, Cafe Monet,
and Kerbey Lane. She's also the host of the Women's Open Stage
at Gaby and Mo's coffee shop every Tuesday night. Award winning
songwriter Adam Donmoyer says: "Jenny is young, but she
is wise. Her songs are often quiet and slow, bu t still full of
intensity and energy. She has the unique ability to take her contradictions
and complexities and put them in a simple and beautiful form."
